Q: Do we start and end at the same place? If I haul my bike up on a truck or trailer does it stay put until the end?
A: Yes, thus far the event has operated from a fixed "homebase" location and each day's route has a start/finish there.
Q: Are there support vehicles and do they carry supplies and tools or simply pick you up and drop you off at the next checkpoint?
A: Yes, we have course sweepers. Probably wisest to carry supplies/tools or anything else you may need on the road with you as not all the sweepers will neccessarily be covering the whole course AND they will be behind the last rider so there could be quite a wait. So far nobody has been left out in the woods overnight, though.
Q: Do people stay at the same motel as a group?
A: Yes, your motel accommodation is included with your entry.
Q: What does the event cost?
A: The entry fee for 2007 has not yet been set, but the past two years it has been $375 and every effort will be made to avoid any increase. The entry includes 3 nights motel accommodation (Sun, Mon, Tue), catered lunch on Mon & Tue, Gala Awards Banquet on Tue night, event swag including t-shirt, stickers, embroidered patch, route sheets and maps, etc. The past two years we have also had a Monday evening dinner hosted by an event participant/benefactor, hopefully that will be part of the program this year too.
